Barry Lyndon…

This was a film from 1975, and I barely remember anything about it. It won four Oscars, but like many films that are at least famous with critics, a piece of music was used in the film and became very popular at the time. It has remained popular long after no one remember anything about the film.. Here it is:

Schubert, Trio op. 100 – Andante con moto…

The rest of the story…

Here is another video with the whole thing. I have somehow never heard this, so it is new to me.

  1. Wow. I don’t think I’ve heard this music before. Or maybe I have and never heard it properly til now.

I’m continually more and more impressed by the smaller works. Symphonies are .. well, mind-blowing..

    But this?

This is three friends having a chat.

  2. I ended up looking up Barry Lyndon – apparently an artist’s work in its own right. Youtube has an interesting blurb called “How Kubrick Achieved the Beautiful Cinematography of Barry Lyndon”. Back to the music – beautiful. I also found myself fascinated by the pianist’s hands as he played.
