Flanders & Swann sing Mozart’s Horn Concerto

This, by the way, is not easy to sing or play on the piano.

And now the real thing,

played on natural or valveless horn, which is about 100 times harder than the modern, valved horn. It’s like the difference between having a net and no net. On valveless horn you have to shove your hand in and out of bell to tune notes. It is fiendishly difficult, and that’s why a few notes sound out of tune. This guy is REALLY good.

  1. The first and second are different in many ways. The one way (I thought of anyway) was that the first was more comedic and the second more professional. The first’s lyrics weren’t present in the second and the Horn wasn’t present in the first. The first comedic pianist, the second professional horn. I guess he got better after he found his horn!
